Questions and answers
How does embedding work on my website?
You search for your business, choose the template and copy two lines of code into your website. You don't need to program anything. Your website has to allow your own HTML code with a script. The best way to find out whether your website builder allows this is to check its settings or help pages first.
Why doesn't my visitors' browser connect to Google?
With many embeds, the browser loads the reviews straight from Google. Widget Fox fetches your public reviews itself and stores them together with profile pictures on servers in the EU. Your visitors load the widget only from there. Google only opens when someone clicks “Write a review” themselves.
When do new reviews show up in the widget?
Widget Fox syncs your reviews on its own, daily on the Pro plan and weekly on the Free plan. You don't have to do anything, and the embed code on your website stays the same.
How can I cancel Pro?
You cancel Pro yourself in your dashboard under “Manage subscription”. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. After that, your account continues on the Free plan.
What if I don't like Pro?
Then send us a short email within 30 days of purchase and you get your money back. Before that, you can try Widget Fox on the Free plan.
Do I need a password?
No. You log in with a login link that we send you by email.
What the widget cannot do
So you know what you are getting into, here are the limits of Widget Fox for Google reviews.
- No stars in Google Search
- The widget shows your reviews on your website. It does not bring stars into Google Search.
- New reviews do not appear right away
- A new review does not appear right away, but with the next sync: daily on the Pro plan, weekly on the Free plan.
- Public Google reviews only
- Widget Fox shows the public reviews of your Google profile. We take the overall rating and the number of reviews as Google states them.
- Views on the Free plan are limited
- If the monthly view limit of the Free plan is reached, the widget shows only the preview mode with the overall rating and stars until the month changes, without individual reviews. It stays online.
- Your website must allow scripts
- To embed the widget, your website has to allow your own HTML code with a script. Without that, the widget cannot be embedded.
- You write replies on Google
- You keep replying to reviews in your Google profile. The widget then shows your replies below the review.
